Sponsored in part by New York State Osteoporosis Prevention Education Program (NYSOPEP), the Hospital for Special Surgery Public and Patient Education Department Osteoporosis Support Group was designed to help patients cope with the effects of this life-altering disease. This program provides on-going support, education and encouragement to persons who are affected by osteoporosis. The group provides an opportunity for individuals with the condition to connect, gain emotional support and learn coping strategies form each other as well obtain timely information and education.
The education forum brings together specialized healthcare professionals to education those diagnoses with osteoporosis about different aspects of the condition. All participants must have a diagnosis of osteoporosis. Pre-registration is required. No on-site registrations permitted. Please call in advance to ensure entry into the support group.
